Residence in Politika

The project is a one-story house in Politika, Evia. It is located on a sloping plot in a non-densely built area with rich vegetation. The main structure consists of three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a dining area. There is, also, an independent guest house with a bedroom, kitchen and dining area. The floor plan is arranged in a linear layout. The two building volumes connect through an outdoor barbeque and dining area, placed under the roof. Between two of the bedrooms in the main house, there is an atrium, allowing the floor plan design to angle in order to follow the plot’s shape. The form and textures of the house are a mix of modern and traditional volumes and materials. The outdoor area consists of a swimming pool and shaded leisure areas under a pergola. In this playful interaction of traditional and modern elements, the concrete pergola is a key feature.
