The project is about a new sports center in Argos.
The building’s dimensions are 70.50 x 55.60 m. by 12.50 m. height. It is designed to host handball games, but it can also host other sport related events. The arena’s capacity may accomodate1200 seated spectators on permanent bleachers and 300 on mobile bleachers.
The main area of the building consists of the playing field, the spectator bleachers and other ancillary areas. The bleachers are aligned to the long axis of the playing field, to provide the best possible view, and are connected by two corridors. There are three entry points to the building. The first one is for the public, through the first floor, the second is exclusively for athletes, on the south side of the ground floor, and the last one is on the north side, for staff, journalists and VIP officials. Entrances are set apart to keep the activities of each group separate and to clearly define their use and purpose. Alongside the athletes’ access, there are locker rooms and other facilities. On the first floor, there are accommodation areas and rooms to facilitate guest teams, during intercity games. The structure is covered by a north to south curved roof that unifies the individual uses into a single unit.
