The project called for renovating and remodeling an old, vacant bar-restaurant into a liquor store and winery. The ground floor is of 210 sq. m. and the mezzanine of 115 sq. m.
The first step was to document and imprint the current state of the premises. After decluttering the existing elements and stripping the place from unnecessary objects and constructions, we were left with a bare shell to house the store.
To directly establish the brand’s identity and provide a unique image that represented the client, the façade and the outdoor space were redesigned. This way the structure was swiftly rebranded. The new façade consists of showcases, to promote the products, and two doors. Entering the shop, there are distinct zones corresponding to different isles, spaces and functions.
To satisfy the client’s wish for a swift opening, the team opted for the creation of repeated modules. This also contributed to the integrated character, evident throughout the store. Apart from the shelves, the ground floor consists of the register, a coffee and snack station, a small dining area for wine degustation, a temperature-controlled cigar section, a wheelchair-accessible bathroom and a space for the mechanical equipment.
The goal was to create a space which helps the clients to easily find their way through the different sectors while making them feel comfortable to enjoy the products.
On the next level, there are small private dining and wine tasting areas, an office space, bathrooms and displays that showcase the products to the clients below. There is also a basement to accommodate the ancillary functions.
